Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Secretary to join our team at Dr. L Waja's office. This is a full-time position with regular business hours from Monday to Thursday.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical professional, including scheduling appointments, managing electronic medical records, and maintaining a clean reception area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries.
  • Maintain patient records and update EMR systems.
  • Verify health card information.
  • Coordinate referrals as needed.
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Manage front desk operations.
  • Provide administrative support, including typing correspondence and filing documents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Accuro.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
