Thompson Rivers University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced educator to join our faculty as a Professor of Education. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in shaping the educational landscape of our institution and contributing to the development of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students in our Graduate Programs in Education, with a focus on K-12 Educational Leadership, K-12 Counselling, and Curriculum, Teaching and Learning.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in education and related fields, with a focus on K-12 educational environments.
- Develop and implement curriculum and teaching methods that support diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programs and practices that support student success and academic excellence.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and leadership roles.
- PhD, EdD, or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Minimum of one degree in an area of Education.
- Three years of full-time or equivalent teaching experience in K-12 settings.
- Experience leading curriculum in a K-12 setting.
- Proven experience in programs and practices that support diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in the cognate areas being considered in this posting.
- Experience as a school vice-principal or principal.
- Experience as a K-12 school counsellor.
- Experience leading as a school vice-principal or principal.
