Electrical Designer Opportunity

Smith + Andersen is a trusted Canadian consulting engineering firm seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team in Calgary. As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for designing electrical building systems, preparing drawings and specifications, and collaborating with project consultants to ensure seamless project execution.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to work on a variety of projects, from hospitals and schools to healthy workplaces and secure transit stations. As an Electrical Designer at Smith + Andersen, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and designers, develop your skills and expertise, and contribute to the success of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Design electrical building systems, including electrical distribution, lighting, and security systems
- Prepare drawings and specifications for electrical systems
- Collaborate with project consultants, including architects, structural engineers, and mechanical engineers
- Conduct site visits and reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Develop and maintain knowledge of electrical building codes and standards

Requirements

- Minimum three years of experience in electrical building services design
- Diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
