About the Role

Mandrake is seeking a highly skilled Materials and Process Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing formulations for SMCs to enhance their properties and processability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Development: Formulate and optimize SMC formulations to improve strength, durability, and processability.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing to validate the performance of new SMC formulations, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical property assessments.
  • Process Optimization: Work on optimizing the SMC manufacturing process to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that SMC products meet standards and specifications.
  • Research and Innovation: Explore and develop new materials or additives that can be used in SMCs to enhance their properties or reduce costs.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to address issues that arise during production, such as defects or process inconsistencies.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: A degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with composite materials, particularly in the context of SMC production, is highly beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of polymer chemistry, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
