Director of Agricultural Operations

Reporting to the Company President, our Director of Agricultural Operations will oversee all aspects of our agricultural transloading and storage facilities in Southern Alberta. This role requires a strong leader with experience in facilities management, business development, staffing requirements, and project management – preferably in the agricultural sector.

Responsibilities
  • Set facility performance goals and provide regular feedback and communication to Head Office, ensuring ongoing alignment with Company goals.
  • Identify opportunities for facility improvements and enhanced cost controls, and communicate ideas to Head Office for consideration and appraisal.
  • Review and assess ongoing machinery and equipment requirements and provide recommendations to Head Office.
  • Implement and maintain high safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Business Development
  • Spearhead the expansion and development of current business operations in Western Canada, including Transloading, Custom Storage, and other service area opportunities as they arise.
Staffing Requirements
  • Review and assess current and future staffing needs, and provide recommendations to Head Office for consideration.
  • Review of current SOPs, HACCP procedures, and good management practices, and advise on implementations plans for change as needed.
  • Lead by example while fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Project Management
  • In coordination with Head Office, all planning and execution related to future expansion projects, including budgets and capital expenditures.
