Telecommunication Field Technician

About the Role:
Cyient is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our Telecommunications Business Unit. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field data collection in Ontario and surrounding provinces. Your primary duties will include visiting multiple job locations daily to record and analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, Aerial/Underground structures, and Street/Right of Way measurements for future/current fiber designs and equipment locations.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field surveys (ISP/OSP) and take detailed notes/photos/sketch of on-site findings.
- Assist Design Specialists by providing detailed feedback of potential cable path and/or site survey.
- Conduct utility and right of way research; read and interpret utility plans, DOT records, property/easement data, civil design blueprints, survey documents, or sketches.
- Proofing or comparing the information contained on GIS maps/drawings with information from different sources such as Google Earth, including data and measurements collected from the field.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience with utility construction in an outside plant environment.
- Experience with telecom/utility poles, and MDU/HFC/BAU field surveys is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
