Job Overview


As a Senior Procurement Specialist at FortisBC, you will play a key role in managing strategic contracts and ensuring the procurement process is efficient and effective.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct market research and analyze quotes to negotiate contracts that meet business needs.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve contract management.
  • Provide business coaching and mentoring to Procurement Specialists to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Act as a team member on project teams to coordinate procurement activities and ensure project targets are met.
  • Assist in the development of procurement procedures and policies to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements



  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent designation.
  • Eight years of recent, related procurement experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of markets and Supply Chain Management best practices and trends.
  • Strong business knowledge in a regulated gas utility industry.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Practical experience equivalent to level 3 competencies for Microsoft Excel and Word application.
  • SAP MM module experience in an integrated environment is an asset.
