Purchasing Clerk - Manufacturing Industry

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our client's team in the manufacturing sector. This position reports to the Sales and Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with procurement activities, vendor management, and ensure timely acquisition of materials to support our operations.
  • Set inventory levels (min max) for packaging and consumables based on historical and promotional needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels for packaging and consumables and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts.
  • Place purchase orders for all packaging and raw materials used in the facilities.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Work with Quality Control for vendor corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with production to ensure packaging and consumable needs are met based on current plant schedule.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Purchasing / Supply Chain or business-related field of study.
  • Manufacturing experience (Plastic, Molding and Paper industry) considered an asset.
  • Well-organized, strong attention to detail, and accuracy with efficient typing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure with professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
