At Western LED Lighting Corp, we are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Equipment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment, diagnosing and locating equipment faults, and adjusting, replacing or repairing telecommunications equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of telecommunications systems and be able to analyze test results to adjust, change or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment and software. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing and maintaining test and service reports, determining the nature, cause and location of trouble, and initiating the dispatch of appropriate repair personnel.

You will also be responsible for instructing apprentices, operating computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment, and climbing and working aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
  • Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment
  • Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
  • Initiate the dispatch of appropriate repair personnel
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures

Requirements:

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English as the primary language of work
  • 37.5 hours per week
