About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Diesel Freight Systems Inc. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and transporting goods and materials across various routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Logistics: Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, using computer equipment and GPS navigation systems.
  • Customer Service: Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance, including brake adjustments and preventive maintenance.
  • Documentation: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections and maintenance.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo, including tarping and handling of dangerous goods.
Requirements
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possess a valid AZ class license and Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Communication Systems: Operate GPS navigation systems and other communication equipment.
  • Transportation Experience: Possess experience in local, long-haul, national, and provincial/territorial transportation.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to handle heavy loads, work in a physically demanding environment, and sit for extended periods.
