We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at CARAVEL GROUP INC. as a Furniture Craftsman. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of high-quality cabinets and furniture pieces.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Woodworking Machines: Safely operate a variety of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
- Study Plans and Specifications: Carefully study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assemble and Finish Products: Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units, and reinforce joints as needed. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, preparing and applying laminated plastics as required.
- Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Estimate Costs and Materials: Accurately estimate costs and materials required for projects, optimizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
- Language: Fluency in English.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, organized, and a team player.
