About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Licensing Specialist to join our team at Kinectrics. This is a permanent opportunity based in Toronto, ON.

Job Description

As a Principal Licensing Specialist, you will provide nuclear safety and licensing support to clients in the nuclear sector. Your responsibilities will include proposing, planning, leading, and conducting projects related to nuclear siting, environmental impact assessments, deterministic and probabilistic safety analysis, operational nuclear safety, emergency preparedness, nuclear security, regulatory affairs, and other related disciplines.

Accountabilities
  • Provide technical leadership and key capabilities in applicable areas.
  • Provide technical mentoring to junior staff.
  • Carry out work with a view to ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Outline, assign, and oversee tasks of others on the team.
  • Support the development of proposals.
  • Prepare technical reports suitable for submission to clients and nuclear regulators.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require advanced knowledge of science and engineering disciplines acquired through a 4-year university education. Additional project management and/or business/financial courses are considered an asset.

Nuclear safety and licensing experience of 9+ years is essential, as is new build and/or SMR or Advanced Reactor service experience. Effective interpersonal and project management skills are also required.

In-depth understanding of nuclear power plant design and operation, Canadian regulatory requirements, and CSA N286 QA standards are necessary. Familiarity with regulatory requirements in other countries is an asset.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
