About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Distributed SQL team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in building a world-class developer experience by designing and implementing developer-friendly tools and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop database drivers, APIs, and SDKs that provide seamless and intuitive access to our database technology across various programming languages and frameworks.
  • Design and implement developer-friendly tools and systems that empower developers to build innovative applications without being hindered by the complexities of integrating with our cutting-edge database technology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift rapidly to meet our customers' evolving needs.

What We Offer
  • A competitive base salary ranging from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • 1+ years of experience with distributed systems, including performance and concurrency engineering.
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
