About the Role:
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process and Development Engineer to join our team at Acara Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects on time and meeting all company standards, customer requirements, and customer-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication with customers.
- Conduct quality gate reviews and provide feedback to vendors for corrective actions.
- Perform spring-back studies to understand dimensional risk and develop compensation plans.
- Analyze Sigma studies to optimize performance and minimize defects.
- Drive the engineering review process to ensure deliverables meet quality, timeline, and vendor accountability standards.
- Support press activities for first-part correlation and train other departments on processes.
- Audit and report KPIs and departmental metrics.
- Participate in lessons learned activities and develop best practices for commodities.
- Lead correlation activities to improve formability, cosmetic, and dimensional results.
- Prepare cost savings opportunities in the engineering phase.
- Root cause open formability and process issues.
- Support all internal departments and travel as required.
Requirements:
Who We're Looking For:
- Engineering degree or 10+ years of experience in automotive stamping with Class A closure panels.
- Understanding of sheet metal formability, material properties, die processes, and GD&T.
- Expert knowledge of running stamping formability simulations using Autoform, PamStamp, or LS Dyna.
- Strong CAD software skills in Catia or NX.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects.
