Vancouver Island University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Instructor(s) in Early Childhood Education to join our Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering classes, designing and grading student assignments and tests, and facilitating student integration of theory and practice. They will also participate in program and faculty meetings, liaise with support staff, other staff and faculty, and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and assess students in Early Childhood Education courses
  • Develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials
  • Participate in program and faculty meetings
  • Liaise with support staff, other staff and faculty
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care, with 7 or more years of practice in Early Childhood Education. They will also have current membership in the Early Childhood Educators of British Columbia (ECEBC) and recent practical experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.

Preferred Qualifications:

A PhD in Early Childhood Education and Care, expertise in instruction at the post-secondary level, and proven research skills are preferred.
