Job Title: IT Specialist

Procon Mining & Tunnelling Ltd. is seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled IT Specialist to provide technical support and maintenance for our computer systems, networks, and software applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and providing excellent customer service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide level 1 and 2 technical support for operating systems, software, hardware, mobile devices, and networks
  • Create and manage images and perform backups as needed on laptops and workstations
  • Maintain and support internal and third-party software applications, and escalate issues to vendors as necessary
  • Develop and deploy technologies to automate maintenance, security, and deployment processes for workstations and mobile devices
  • Conduct research and resolve technical issues within the scope of responsibility
  • Develop and update technical documentation
  • Modify and improve procedures as needed
  • Provide on-site and remote support
  • Occasionally manage special projects
Requirements
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Windows 10 & 11, Windows Servers 2016 or 2019
    • Active Directory and O365. Experience with Microsoft 365 Admin Center is an asset
    • Networking: support and troubleshooting
    • Multi-function printers
    • IOS and Android
    • ITIL v4 Foundation, A+, Network+, or Sec+ certifications are an asset
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Pertinent documentation and customer service skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage priorities, time, and deadlines, multitasking in a constantly evolving environment
    • Motivation to work in a team and skills and ability to manage changing priorities
    • Exemplary punctuality and attendance
    • Ability to travel
    • Flexible work schedule and ability to work long hours when necessary
    • Background checks will be required for this position
