Security Protector

Paladin Security is a leading provider of on-call security services, serving a diverse range of clients in the Lower Mainland.

The salary for this position ranges from $18 to $21 per hour, depending on the site. Our benefits package includes competitive pay, opportunities for overtime, and a comprehensive training program.

As an On-Call Security Guard with Paladin Security, you will be responsible for providing essential first response services at various sites throughout the Lower Mainland. Your duties will include:

• Controlling access to facilities
• Conducting regular foot patrols
• Monitoring CCTV cameras
• Providing first aid and emergency assistance
• Offering exceptional customer service
• Writing detailed incident reports
• De-escalating potentially violent situations
• Responding to alarms and emergency requests
• Managing lost and found items
• Communicating effectively with colleagues, clients, emergency responders, and the public

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• A passion for being active, as patrols may involve walking or standing for extended periods
• Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift (8 hours average)
• Confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
• Some experience in security or customer service would be an asset, but other relevant experience can also be beneficial
• Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radio

You will work full-time (40 hours per week), with the possibility of overtime shifts. Most shifts will be in the afternoons (e.g., 3pm-11pm) or overnight (e.g., 11pm-7am), and can be any day of the week. Many of our sites are transit accessible, but having your own vehicle for commuting to and from work is considered an asset.
