Key Responsibilities

Supervise, mentor and coach a small team of laboratory staff and coordinate daily inpatient/outpatient activities. Provide technical guidance to lab staff in conjunction with Specialists and leadership. Facilitate workplace solutions, and promote continuous learning. Coordinate the implementation of processes and procedures, standards, goals and objectives. Ensure that policies, procedures, accreditation and safety standards are maintained.

The Queen Victoria Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Located in Revelstoke, between Salmon Arm and Golden, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, obstetrics, and emergency.

Requirements

  • Medical Laboratory Technologist with current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with CSMLS/BCSLS
  • Minimum of three years' recent experience as a general duty technologist in a medical laboratory
  • Minimum of one year recent leadership experience
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the facility
