About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Investigation Specialist to join our team. As an integral member of the AML Financial Intelligence Unit, you will plan, conduct, and complete risk-based investigations into matters referred to the Unit.

You will gather, analyze, and evaluate relevant information to determine whether sufficient suspicion exists of money laundering, financing of terrorism, or other criminal activities, justifying a report to the Regulatory Authority. This role plays a key part in complying with legislative requirements and mitigating risk to RBC in line with established policy.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, conduct, and complete risk-based investigations into matters identified from media scans, transaction monitoring, and Unusual Transaction Reporting via internal partners.
  • Maintain accurate records of all investigative actions and decisions taken, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and RBC policy.
  • Gather information and intelligence from available sources to determine sufficient suspicion of money laundering, financing of terrorism, or other criminal activities.
  • Prepare relevant reports as required, including documentation supporting proposed actions based on investigation results.
