About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Ventilation Lead to join our team at Newmont Inc. in a fly-in, fly-out operation in Northwest Ontario. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will be responsible for providing direction and focus to the ventilation group to achieve and surpass safety and production targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Ventilation Plans

Develop plans and ventilation system designs for regulatory compliance and adherence to Company policies, procedures, and standards.

Lead the Ventilation Team

Oversee planning activities to ensure airway dimensions are appropriate, layouts are effective, and scheduled to be on time.

Collaborate with Other Departments

Optimize the ventilation system through collaboration with other departments, including operations and corporate ventilation SME.

Mentor and Motivate the Ventilation Team

Able to mentor and motivate the ventilation team, with strong communication and people skills.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

A Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent engineering degree, with 3-5 years of mine engineering experience.

Technical Competence

Be technically competent and have a good understanding of Mine Ventilation Principles and Design.

Software Skills

Strong Ventsim Visual Skills and Deswik Skills (CAD, IS, and Scheduler).

Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is 14 days on, 14 days off, working 12-hour days.
