Island Health is seeking a skilled physician to join our team at Campbell River General (CRG) hospital on Northern Vancouver Island. Located in Campbell River, British Columbia, CRG is a 105-bed acute care hospital established in 2017.
CRC offers a unique opportunity to provide family medicine care to unattached and unassigned inpatients. As a physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to approximately 17-25 patients per shift. Shift lengths are typically 5-7 days, with flexible scheduling options available.
You will work alongside colleagues in various specialties, including Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Orthopedics, Palliative care, Pediatrics, Radiology, and Addictions Medicine. Our hospital has established links with tertiary care centers located just an hour away in Nanaimo.
We offer a competitive compensation package, which includes:
- A salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 per year, depending on experience
- A recruitment incentive of up to $10,000, prorated based on full-time equivalency
- A relocation allowance of up to $15,000, based on location
- A flat fee of $9,242.09
- An annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance of $2,200 in years 3-4, and $4,400 after 4 years in the community
In addition to these benefits, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and congenial environment, with a blend of family practice groups and inpatient care lines. You will also have access to opportunities for teaching and professional development.
The communities we serve include Alert Bay, Campbell River, Cortes Island, Gold River, Kyuquot, Port Alice, Port Hardy, Port MacNeill, Sointula, and Tahsis.
