Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team at Matoi sushi. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to a high standard, ensuring that all dishes meet our quality and presentation expectations.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, maintaining a high level of hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
- Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, ensuring that all stock is properly labeled and stored.
- Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen environment.
- Floor Care: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to a high standard, ensuring that the kitchen is always clean and safe.
- Food Preparation Support: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, supporting the preparation of meals and snacks.
- Team Player: You will work collaboratively with our kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.
- Work Term: This is a permanent position, offering stability and opportunities for growth and development.
- Work Language: English is the primary language spoken in our kitchen, and you will be expected to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Hours: You will work a regular schedule of 30-40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime as needed.
