About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our Residential team at Northern Property REIT. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the grounds and buildings are well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of common areas and comply with our Health and Safety requirements
  • Maintain lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds, including pruning, raking, mowing grass, fertilizing, and weeding control
  • Move furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies, including clearing vacant suites as necessary, loading and unloading materials, and delivering to properties
  • Remove snow and ice from all entrances, exits, and walkways as required
  • Deliver notices to building residents and post notices in common areas as needed
  • Maintain clean vacant lots and keep grounds free of debris
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Maintain company vehicles as applicable
  • Assist with suite renovations and other upgrades
  • Provide resident services and assistance as required, maintaining good resident relations
  • Assist with the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Perform other duties related to the upkeep of buildings and grounds as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working outdoors in manual labor, in diverse weather conditions, is an asset
  • Proven ability to work productively and safely while under pressure, with good time management
  • Previous training or experience using Bobcat equipment is an asset, but not required
  • Good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor, with the ability to speak and write English
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Will work weekends as necessary
