Job Summary

Animal Care Technician Role

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a skilled Animal Care Technician to join our Toxicology team in Sherbrooke, QC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of animals and the integrity of our preclinical studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness of animal living environments according to industry standards.
  • Assist technicians in daily tasks.
  • Handle animals with care.
  • Participate in animal physical and social activities.

Requirements:

  • Able to follow precise instructions.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 20 kg, walking, standing, and stooping.
  • Understanding of written English.
  • Passionate about animal welfare.
  • High School Diploma (DES) required; AEP in Animal Care is an asset.

Benefits:

  • Starting salary: $18.50/hour; opportunity to start at a higher level with specific research experience.
  • Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours/week); may require overtime and weekend work (rotation) with a bonus.
