Job Summary

The City of Toronto's Shelter, Support & Housing Administration Division is seeking a Client Program Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will work in emergency shelters providing direct support to families and children experiencing homelessness.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-impact learning experiences, monitoring activities for safety, and assisting with program development and evaluation. You will also lead large groups, provide clear instructions, and maintain safety and order. Your strong communication skills will enable you to interact effectively with residents, staff, and the public.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver workshops, programs, and activities in a recreational, educational or residential setting.
  • Assist with constructing new workshops and materials, and reviewing existing resources.
  • Emply strong communication skills to lead large groups, give clear instructions, and maintain safety and order.
  • Document attendance of residents, complete forms, reports, and other necessary documentation.
  • Assist with promoting program participation and evaluation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have experience delivering direct support to children, youth, and adults, and facilitating workshops and programs in a recreational, educational, or residential setting. You must also possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Additionally, you should have fundamental knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Child Care and Early Years Act.
