Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to Lifeguards/Instructors, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties safely and proficiently.
  • Manage and direct Lifeguards/Instructors during tasks and training sessions, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

Lifeguarding & Instructional Experience

A minimum of 3 years of lifeguarding/instructing experience is required, with staff supervisory experience being preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pool programming, pool chemistry, and pool mechanics.

Certifications & Qualifications

The following certifications are required:

  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor Certification
  • Current National Lifeguard (Pool Option)
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR C & AED
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time-management, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills and abilities to provide and promote positive values and recreational benefits.
  • Ability to train and mentor other lifeguards/instructors.
  • Ability to accurately count money and reconcile cash totals.
  • Physical ability to perform rescues of pool patrons and all lifeguard-related duties safely and proficiently.
