Job Title: Bulker & Spreader Mixer Operator

Job Summary:

The Bulker & Spreader Mixer Operator plays a crucial role in road construction by accurately applying water to gravel. This position requires efficient operation of Cat Rm 250 & 300s in various situations, including cement stabilization, in tight work areas with other construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the Goal Zero Initiative by adhering to defined activities for the position.
  • Perform pre and post-trip equipment inspections and log book entries.
  • Efficiently back up equipment and identify hazards on site.
  • Responsible for equipment checks and reporting mechanical issues to mechanics and supervisors.
  • Must be able to learn general construction practices involving road construction.
  • Must have an understanding of ground disturbance issues.
  • Implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment.
Requirements:
  • Class 3 license with air endorsements is considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of water duties and road construction procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Able to perform physical/manual labor for extended periods.
  • Effective communication with co-workers.
  • Valid driver's license (class 5).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet safety requirements.
  • Able and willing to work overtime as required.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Strong regard for ethics.
  • Ability to meet and adhere to all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  • Willingness to join and maintain active membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 955, if not already a member.
