Job Summary:

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our base crew as roller operators, labourers, packers, medium duty trucks, mixers, and other heavy duty equipment operators. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting crews with equipment operation or labourer duties, performing manual labour tasks, and ensuring the safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist crews with equipment operation or labourer duties
  • Perform manual labour tasks, including strenuous physical activity
  • Operate heavy duty equipment safely and efficiently
  • Work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete tasks
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Some experience in operating construction equipment will be an asset
  • Labourer experience assisting crews and operating base equipment will be required
  • Knowledge of municipal road building industry will be an asset
  • Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time
  • Interest in training and learning equipment for growth opportunities
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle to commute to job sites
  • High attention to detail, ability to communicate professionally, and ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Valid safety certifications

Additional Information:

  • This position is eligible for overtime
  • Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required
  • Training will be provided for various activities
  • We offer excellent wages and benefit eligibility after 3 months, with the possibility of continuing benefits during the winter months
  • There is potential for on-call work during the winter months for snow removal and early spring sweeping season
