Refugee Sponsorship Program Director

Celebree School of Columbia South is seeking a Director to establish a new ministry program within our organization. The program will be called the Refugee Sponsorship Special Project (RSSP).

As our community grows, we see the need to provide a lifeline to individuals whose lives are threatened due to their Gospel work. This includes some of our own staff and others known to them.

The Director of the RSSP will be responsible for all elements of the project including:

  • working with our staff to identify and select refugee candidates
  • working with selected candidates to prepare and submit applications for refugee status in the United States
  • recruiting support teams of volunteers to help successful refugees adjust during their first year in the United States
  • fundraising for all the costs associated with this ministry project, including the cost of supporting the refugees during their first year in the United States, the RSSP Director's salary, and costs associated with communicating/coordinating with our staff and selected candidates, submitting and tracking the progress of applications, supporting and preparing selected candidates during the government's evaluation process, developing the support plan for each individual or family sponsored (housing, education, medical, banking, community connections, etc.)

This candidate will have experience working with refugees and/or immigrants. He/she will value the opportunity to help those whose lives are in significant jeopardy due to their evangelical activities. He/she will have experience in leadership, recruiting, working with volunteers and fundraising.

Requirements:

  • must have a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • must agree with the Celebree School of Columbia South Statement of Faith
  • must have a valid driver's license
