Job Description


As a highly skilled Electrical Category Strategist at Wesco, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and profitability. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute category strategies that align with our business objectives.


This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional with a passion for product assortment optimization and supplier contracting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and process improvements.


About the Role


We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in sales, marketing, or product management. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field is required, with a proven track record of success in category management, people management, or product development.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute category strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Optimize product assortment and merchandising strategies to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales
  • Contract with suppliers to improve operational and financial terms
  • Support marketing plan development and execution to promote products and services
  • Communicate key product messaging both internally and externally to ensure alignment with company goals
  • Evaluate and compare products to identify alternatives and make informed purchasing decisions
  • Identify and manage new product introductions to meet customer needs and drive business growth
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible value for the company
  • Address supplier performance management and issue resolution to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or relevant field required
  • Master's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, product management, or related field
  • Experience in electrical distribution market preferred
