We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at REgroup, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks on heavy-duty trucks, large refuse vehicles, tractor trailers, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of all transport trucks, including repairing and rebuilding components; diagnosing and repairing air brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
- Completing reports to record problems and work performed.
- Inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnosing faults and malfunctions and confirming findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
- Adjusting, repairing or replacing parts and components of transport truck and truck-trailer systems.
- Inspecting brake systems, wheel bearings, steering components, and other engine parts, and performing repairs as required.
- Performing scheduled maintenance service.
- Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
- Helping prevent breakdowns by checking, cleaning, and oiling machine parts regularly.
- Ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Candidates who have completed Interprovincial Truck and Transport licensed Technician.
- 3 years' experience in trucking or heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform complete repair and overhaul functions.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Willingness to work in a team environment.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
