Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Brand Designer Junior to join our team at New Flyer. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative designs that meet customer specifications and ensure product reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design Tasks and Project Assignments: Complete design tasks and project assignments that support production activities, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  2. Design Creation: Create designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, and other contract documents, ensuring designs are within manufacturing abilities.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  4. Testing and Verification: Complete or initiate-controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability, and verify component fit.
  5. Documentation and Release: Complete technical drawings and release documents under Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
  6. Engineering Support: Provide engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
  7. Vendor and Customer Interaction: Interact with vendors and customers on design-related issues, ensuring that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.

Requirements:

  1. Education and Experience: Junior - College Grad (1-5 yrs experience) / Intermediate - College Grad with 5-10 years experience, registered CTTAM / Senior - College Grad with a minimum of 10+ years experience, registered w/CTTAM.
  2. Manufacturing and Assembly Experience: Manufacturing & Assembly experience is an asset.
  3. CAD/Unigraphics Drafting: Strong CAD/Unigraphics Drafting skills are required.
  4. Employee Development: Ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives along with tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions.
