Electrical Project Management Specialist

Black & McDonald Limited (Atlantic Region) is expanding its Atlantic team. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Project Management Specialist to join our Utility Department in Moncton, NB.

This role encompasses a diverse array of projects across utility, civil, electrical, industrial, governmental, and institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned projects focusing on cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract adherence.
  • Develop estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on project specifications and bids.
  • Prepare proposal documents and ensure compliance with tendering procedures.
  • Oversee the tendering process and maintain an understanding of cost monitoring systems.
  • Set project objectives, policies, and performance standards in line with company policies.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including team members, clients, and suppliers.
  • Plan and manage construction schedules and milestones effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor project progress, labor productivity, and budget forecasts.
  • Review contracts and work in progress for potential risks and implement corrective actions.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring the availability of materials and equipment, completing monthly cost forecasts, and maintaining accurate productivity reports. The role may require travel to various sites to engage with clients and stakeholders.

Education Requirements:

A degree or diploma in Project Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Work Experience Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in the Electrical, Power Line Technician, or Civil Industry is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

  • Proficient in construction scheduling, planning, and execution.
  • Ability to analyze tenders both commercially and technically.
  • Familiarity with business operations processes and established division practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Technical Skills:

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project), JD Edwards or Oracle-based ERP systems, and estimating software such as Accubid is beneficial.
