We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team at NearSource Technologies in Toronto, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to play a key role in a multinational Fortune 500 project and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable web and cloud solutions with a focus on performance and efficiency. You will work collaboratively with architects, product designers, product managers, and engineers to develop high-quality solutions and provide leadership alongside the Development Manager, Product Owner, and Architect to guide the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing highly scalable web and cloud solutions using Java and Microservices.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Identifying and addressing issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility within the systems.
  • Exploring and prototyping new technologies, ideas, and patterns relevant to the project.
  • Taking ownership of initiatives and delivering end-to-end solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Java, Microservices, and RESTful web services, as well as a strong background in Backend Software Engineering. You should be proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate, and have expertise in developing REST APIs and delivering highly available, scalable, distributed systems and microservices in production environments. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools such as Docker, ECS, S3, and more is also required. Basic knowledge of server programming, databases, and cloud architectures is essential.

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. NearSource Technologies values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity.
