Job Summary
Mackenzie Health seeks an experienced healthcare professional to fill the role of Patient Care Manager. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and direction of all surgical ambulatory services.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical patient care management, with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar role. Ambulatory leadership experience is highly preferred.
You will collaborate with the Program Director, Medical Directors, Perioperative Manager, Educator, allied health members, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality, effective, and efficient care is provided. Your primary responsibilities will include managing human and financial resources, contributing to strategic priorities, and maintaining shared governance principles.
Responsibilities
- Manage operations and organizational effectiveness of the department, including human and financial resources.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic priorities and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the organization's vision, values, and strategic direction.
- Support shared governance, interdisciplinary, and collaborative management practices.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and other key members to address operational issues.
- Ensure resource development and use for process measurement and evaluation.
- Provide leadership in developing new initiatives, promoting creativity, innovation, and critical thinking.
- Participate in operating plan development with stakeholders.
- Act as a coach, mentor, and role model, providing leadership to staff.
- Foster effective employee and labor relations through knowledgeable interpretation and implementation of hospital policies and collective agreements.
