Job Summary

The Stores and Distribution Attendant plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our multi-site distribution center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for utilizing computerized applications to manage inventory, operate a two-axle vehicle, and perform various tasks related to stores and distribution activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize internal requisitions from multiple sites and departments, maintaining accurate records and data entry into our computerized system.
  • Maintain the cart top-up system by checking supply levels, entering requisition data, and picking stock from inventory to replenish carts or trolleys as needed.
  • Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming goods and materials, ensuring they meet specifications and complete related paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for carts or trolleys and stores shelving, labeling and updating data as directed.
  • Marshal supplies and equipment in loading or temporary storage areas, assemble loads, and transport goods to designated areas.
  • Identify and return damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers, completing necessary documentation.
  • Deliver, pick up, ship, and transport supplies and equipment, adhering to WHMIS and TDG regulations, and completing required documentation.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance functions on vehicles and equipment, including securing loads, cleaning, checking, lubricating, and topping up fluids.
  • Participate in inventory activities and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, one year of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015), and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
  • Effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
