Salary Range

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This figure may vary depending on factors such as experience and qualifications.

Job Description: Director of Resident Care (RN)

Overview: The Director of Resident Care (RN) plays a crucial role in ensuring the provision of optimum care to promote the well-being of each individual resident. This includes assessing, implementing, evaluating, reporting, and documenting actions to affect positive outcomes related to the residents' health.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the needs of residents and developing personalized care plans;
  • Implementing and evaluating care programs to ensure optimal outcomes;
  • Managing and coordinating Home-wide programs, including skin care, behaviour management, infection control, back care, CQI/risk management, palliative care, quality of life, and health and safety;
  • Ensuring nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties; and
  • Participating in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers, and nursing personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51);
  • Successful completion of or enrollment in Long Term Care Senior Management or equivalent;
  • 2 years experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred;
  • Demonstrated active interest in ongoing education; and
  • Computer literacy.
