About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aquatic Toxicologist to join our dynamic team in BC and Yukon. As a key member of our risk assessment team, you will be responsible for applying your expertise in aquatic toxicology to various projects, including toxicological effects assessments, risk assessment, and environmental monitoring.

You will collaborate with senior staff to understand project objectives and implementation, conduct literature reviews, design and interpret results of aquatic toxicity studies, and integrate literature and toxicity test data to support development of site-specific toxicity thresholds.

As a mid-level position, you can expect to spend minimal time in the field, but as needed to help deliver projects. You will also prepare reports, presentations, and proposals, participate in client meetings, and develop your technical skills to share with other team members.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or higher in Toxicology, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline, eligibility for professional registration as a Registered Professional Biologist, and 4-6 years of relevant experience working in toxicology and risk assessment.

You should have strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, experience in designing and interpreting results of aquatic toxicity studies, and good attention to detail and written communication skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Toxicology, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline
