About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our team at Aequilibrium Software Inc. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Java.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Android applications using Kotlin and Java, following Agile software development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver compelling user-facing products and services.
  • Develop and maintain software using clean architecture patterns, such as MVVM, and ensure code quality through automated unit tests and peer code review.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android SDKs, Jetpack libraries, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to improve our applications.
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their expectations.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong focus on Kotlin and Java.
  • 3+ years of experience in Angular development, with a focus on building scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Experience working with Agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum.
  • Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Developing and maintaining software using clean architecture patterns, such as MVVM.
  • Reactive programming experience with RxJava.
  • Creating automated unit tests and ensuring code quality through peer code review.
  • Experience with Jetpack libraries and developing and successfully launching native Android apps to Google Play.
  • Understanding of proper code documentation, automation, and knowledge about the modern software development life cycle.
  • Experience building libraries that are used by other developers and understanding best practices in this domain.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD with Bitrise or Jenkins, automation, and scripting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with REST APIs.
  • A desire to work with the latest technologies relating to Android.
