Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Officer to join our team at Equitable Bank. As a key member of our mortgage team, you will be responsible for originating and processing mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and review required documentation, including income and down payment verification, to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing (ATF) requirements.
- Ensure mortgage files are in compliance with established lending policies and procedures, and that legal, AML, and ATF requirements have been satisfied.
- Manage deal flow to meet prescribed deadlines, utilizing reports to track and manage the flow of all deals funding for the team.
- Communicate with internal and external contacts to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Monitor changes to deals and update files as required, ensuring Quality Assurance requirements and Compliance review queries are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in a financial field.
- 1-2 years' mortgage experience in the alternative mortgage market.
- Sound thinking and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to grasp AML & ATF practices and make complex decisions under pressure.
- Proven ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and perform well in a high volume, high intensity environment.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to respond in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Committed to providing superb customer service.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a focus on MS Word and Excel.
- Detailed knowledge of mortgage funding and quality assurance processes.
