We are seeking a skilled Edgeband Operator to join our team at Teknion. As an Edgeband Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating the Edgebander, ensuring high-quality edgebanding products are produced efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and calibrate the Edgebander according to job specifications, including adjusting feed speed, cutter heads, and pressure settings.
- Prepare raw materials for edgebanding, ensuring they meet quality standards and dimensions specified for the job.
- Monitor the edgebanding process to ensure finished products meet quality standards, including inspecting for defects, proper edge alignment, and adherence of edgebanding material.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the Edgebander, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with the Edgebander during operation, such as machine jams, feed inconsistencies, or blade dullness, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
- Work efficiently to meet production goals and deadlines, optimizing machine settings and minimizing downtime for changeovers or maintenance.
- 2+ years experience working on an Edgebander or similar machine.
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing.
- Must be organized and able to prioritize work activities based upon primary duties.
- Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the pursuit of excellence to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
- Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.
