Instructional Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Technologist to join our team at Sheridan College. As a key member of our Teaching and Learning Innovation department, you will play a critical role in guiding faculty in the design, development, and integration of multimedia elements as part of our Sheridan Online Initiative.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with instructional designers to design and develop learning objects that enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
- Work with faculty to create high-quality multimedia content that aligns with learning objectives and supports student engagement.
- Develop script, edit videos and audio files, and create animations and interactive graphic elements to integrate into learning experiences.
- Provide training and support to faculty on creating and integrating multimedia content into their courses.
- Develop guidelines, best practices, and resources for multimedia development and ensure all assets meet the highest design standards.
- Manage multimedia projects from conception through to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Communicate with partners to ensure projects are on track and according to plan.
- Assess and mitigate risk proactively and ensure clear communication with supervisors.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance of multimedia elements to ensure compatibility with learning management systems (LMS) and AODA compliance.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Technologist who has a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present to diverse audiences and communities.
You will have a strong understanding of project management principles and tools, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, balance, and manage multiple complex and competing demands.
Requirements- Minimum of a Post-Graduate Degree (e.g. Master's) in Instructional Technology or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in guiding faculty in course development technologies, collaborating with faculty in design and development of course assets at a program level using a variety of technologies including the LMS and AI.
- Experience with designing and collecting data that informs design and development decision and course quality – Data/Learning Analytics.
- Experience with video & audio production and immersive technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, analytical/critical thinking with the ability to prioritize projects and requests.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently with an agile mindset.
