About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Humo Restorations Inc. as a Construction Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and implement construction plans in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create building structures.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure the stability and integrity of buildings.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the construction of buildings.
  • Supervise and instruct apprentices in the construction process to ensure that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Estimate costs and materials required for construction projects to ensure that they are completed within budget.
  • Operate computer-aided design (CADD) and other software systems to create detailed plans and designs for construction projects.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate buildings and wooden structures in various settings, including residential and commercial properties.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Combine sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Reliability, team player, punctuality, and dependability are essential qualities for this role.
  • Ability to work on the road and travel to various job sites.
  • Fluency in English is required for communication with colleagues and clients.
