Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Co-op student to join our team at the New Afton Mine in Kamloops, British Columbia. The successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to the IT Department, ensuring the reliable and stable operation of on-site systems and communications.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and assistance to the IT Department, including installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and communications hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Aid in ensuring the reliable and stable operation of on-site systems and communications using leading-edge technologies and software.
- Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Gain experience with enterprise-grade systems, including HyperV, Cisco unified communications, Windows Server, Microsoft O365, SharePoint, Microsoft Azure, Exchange 2016/Exchange Online, ERP solutions, site security, CCTV video, collaboration/messaging solutions, and other related technologies.
- Enrolled in a program with a Computer Science and/or Information Systems Technology focus.
- Preference will be given to candidates with documented experience in industry-related fields or with working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, including Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Windows 10, Office, and Office 365.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation are required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and root-cause determination skills are considered an asset.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage numerous projects in a time-sensitive manner is essential.
- Must have access to personal transportation and be eligible to drive in Canada.
- Must provide proof of confirmation of valid educational requirements and transcripts.
- A competitive total compensation package, including a salary range of $52,000 to $64,480.
