Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

At Burnac Produce Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct physical product inspections to ensure quality standards and business operating standards are met.
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of customer specifications and quality standards for assigned customer inspection reports.
  • Sample fruits and vegetables to check temperature and pressure of product.
  • Take pictures of product and packaging labels to upload to the software to build reports.
  • Request CFIA inspection and collect samples as needed and send out results to Category Manager.
  • Ensure all product handling follows all quality control parameters, regulatory, HACCP and BRC food safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Monitor quality of product in storage on a daily basis.
  • Identify quality or temperature problems in shipments.
  • Provide timely and clear communication on all inspections.
  • Advise buyers of deteriorating quality in storage in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain constant communication and working relationships with warehouse employees.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of BRC requirements, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Regulations.
  • 1 to 3 years minimum experience in the fresh produce business or food and beverage.
  • 1 to 3 years' experience working within food inspection position, completing physical inspections.
  • Strong background in produce.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral.
  • Lift 22kg floor to waist, waist to shoulder and above shoulder.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to pull, bend, twist and climb each shift.
  • Ability to walk and stand each shift.
