Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Drill Operator to join our Mine Operations team at the Gahcho Kué Mine in the Northwest Territories. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of large rotary or percussion/hammer drills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate drill equipment according to company procedures and standards;
  • Read and interpret drill pattern instructions or diagrams;
  • Measure and inspect drill holes and patterns;
  • Operate a variety of drilling machines to bore blast holes to specified depths at stake positions;
  • Conduct daily safety checks and inspections of equipment before operating;
  • Monitor equipment and report any deficiencies according to proper mine operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Legally permitted to work in Canada;
  • 5+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of production drilling machines;
  • Experience operating large rotary drills and hammer/percussion drills;
  • Ability to safely work day and night shifts on a rotational basis;
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental standards;
  • Experience working at a remote mining site and in a cross-cultural work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Heavy equipment certificate;
  • Experience with Epiroc Pit Viper and drill models PV271, D65, DX800;
  • Experience in mining industry, preferably with open pit operations.
