About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Specialist to join our team at Valmet. As a key member of our automation team, you will provide advisory services to customers and/or third-party contractors on existing and/or newly acquired equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance for the installation and commissioning of equipment and components.
  • Carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis as required, undertaking service and repair of products and systems to deliver against customers' requirements.
  • Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras, and engineering and fabrication errors.
  • Report back on completed projects outlining the activities carried out, faults found during service, and any future recommendations for improving the service offering.
  • Train customer staff in methods to maintain and repair the equipment, to ensure knowledge is transferred.
  • Conduct audits at customer sites to record and analyze process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

Well-qualified candidates should meet one of the following requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in the field with instrumentation and electromechanics, preferably in a pulp and paper manufacturing environment.
  • A technical school diploma in instrumentation, electromechanics, or mechatronics.
  • A university or collegiate degree in electronics, electro-mechanics, or instrumentation.
