About This Role

Giant Tiger is seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team in Saint John, NB. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the checkouts, accurately recording customer transactions, and maintaining a safe and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit card payments, and other forms of payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to Giant Tiger's high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in processing customer transactions.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Work Schedule

A typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 40 hours weekly. A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings, and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.

While performing the duties of this job, you can expect to:

  • Stand and/or walk.
  • Bend, twist, and squat.

  • Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions.
  • Reach above shoulder height and below waist level.
  • Operate equipment, including using a ladder.
