Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator to lead our Early Learning Program. This is a full-time opportunity for the right candidate to make a positive impact on the lives of Junior and Senior Kindergarten students.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers to provide high-quality, play-based education to students in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver an engaging and effective Early Learning Program
  • Lead extended programs before and after school for OCDSB students at designated elementary schools
  • Work with teachers in daily classroom activities with students
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 2-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Minimum 1 year of child care experience
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR
  • Immunization Record with MMR and Tdap immunizations and personal declaration of having chicken pox in the past or the chicken pox vaccine
  • Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector Check done within the last 6 months
Skills and Abilities:

You will need:

  • A thorough understanding of early childhood development and knowledge of elementary school operations
  • Good communication skills to effectively communicate with parents, staff, and students
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision in a multicultural environment and respect a diverse range of children and families
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to individual needs of children in a multi-ethnic and multilingual environment
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity
  • Adapts well to changing demands
  • Works collaboratively with teaching staff to achieve goals
Salary:

$75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
