Job DescriptionThis Electrical Engineering Technologist role involves working with various electronic devices and systems, including communication systems, mill equipment, and power control systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles, wiring specification codes, and material properties.
The job requires the ability to plan and perform work independently, make mechanical and electrical repairs, inspect and test equipment, and fabricate parts using machine and hand tools. A diploma from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology program and relevant experience are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions covering repair, installation, and inspection work.
- Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service electronic devices and systems.
- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of materials, and operation and application of equipment.
- Fabricate parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology program.
- A minimum 2 years' experience in an Electrical Engineering Technology role or minimum 4 years' experience in an industrial environment or operating steel/pipe facilities.
- Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience in pipe manufacturing.
- Knowledge of OH&S regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word.
